New Blog - What's to come

This is the first entry on my online blog. So, now the Internet community can be subjected to my various rantings on the wonderful world of IT. It's actually pretty embarrassing how badly we as IT deliver projects to clients. Search on the net for "IT project failure statistics" and you will see what I mean. Failure rates of 32%, 46%, etc. are quoted from various research company sources. There has to be a better way! Trouble is IT development is a very complex area, fraught with changing / oversold technologies, miss-managed projects, not enough skilled resources and 100+ more factors.

What's the answer? Well good question. I'd be a millionaire if I knew the answer to that. But I do know that there are better ways to deliver IT projects. With my new role at DSC-IT as Applications Development Manager, I hope to create an environment that embraces innovation and new agile techniques to try and turn around this shocking IT statistic (well, at least in my little corner of the world).

I'll be posting thoughts, opinions, and general rantings as I travel down this rabbit hole!
